You’ve probably signed so many online petitions already – but this one is quite unique.
We think we’ve got all it takes to get I AM BREATHING into more cinemas – an acclaimed film, festival laurels, dozens of 4 and 5-star reviews, multiple-page coverage in newspapers, TV and radio – and we have yet to meet an audience member who wasn’t profoundly moved by the film they had seen. And so many people have been asking us where they can see the film!
We’ve just proven our impact in many one-off events around our Global Screening Day. The first cinemas are now committing to doing longer runs, showing the film for three to seven days.
Yet some cinema programmers still think, “who wants to go and see a film about someone dying?” So we need to tell them it’s a film about life, it’s a film for everyone.
Like Dominic Lawson wrote in The Independent, it’s about “a dying man who reminds us just what life is for”.
And we need you to stand up and say:
“I really want to see I AM BREATHING in our local cinema, and I will do my best to help fill the screening and bring many other people with me.”
