As far as cameos go, it’s hard to beat physicist Stephen Hawking.
The world-famous scientist filmed a scene last Friday for The Big Bang Theory, TV Guide reported.
The sitcom – which stars Jim Parsons as Dr Sheldon Cooper, a brilliant but socially deluded theoretical physicist – has been trying to get Hawking, perhaps the world’s best-known living scientist, on the show for several years.
But Hawking, who has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a form of motor neurone disease that is better known as Lou Gerhig’s disease, was never able to appear until now because of his health.
Hawking will, naturally, be playing himself.
The cameo will be part of an episode airing April 5.
