Alistair The Optimist

Alistair’s Story:

“Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is killing me. It will gradually leave me unable to walk, talk, eat and breathe. I’ll miss out on my kids growing up. There will be things that I will no longer be able to do like record and play the music I love.

Time is running out. I need to finish an album with my band before my muscles stop working. I need to leave this legacy for my family and friends.

Alistair and family

But I’m not going to let it defeat me. MND may be incurable but I am an incurable optimist. I’m determined to carry on drumming for as long as I can, and the songs I am recording with my band are dedicated to all the incurable optimists helping to beat MND.

Take a look at what I am doing and see how you can get involved to help others and support the work of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. I know that through optimism we will find the cure to MND.”
